From Houston
If you are coming from the Houston area you will want to take 288 South and head toward Lake Jackson. You can get to 288 South by either taking 610 South, the Sam Houston Tollway/Beltway 8 South, or Hwy 59. See further directions below for after reaching Lake Jackson.
From Houston Hobby Airport
From the Houston Hobby airport you will want to take I-45 south and then take the Sam Houston Tollway/Beltway 8 West. Within a fairly short distance you’ll come to 288 South. Take 288 South to Lake Jackson. Follow the additional directions below for after reaching Lake Jackson.
From George Bush Intercontinental Airport – Via Sam Houston Tollway
We recommend you take Beltway 8 West which will turn into the Sam Houston Tollway South. This route does have tolls but from our experience it is a quicker route. On the South side of the Tollway you will eventually come to the 288 South Exit. Take 288 South to Lake Jackson. Follow the additional directions below for after reaching Lake Jackson.
From George Bush Intercontinental Airport – via I-45
If you decide to take I-45 you will take that through Houston and past the Houston Hobby airport exit. You will still need to take the exit for the Sam Houston Tollway West. From there look for the 288 South exit and take that South to Lake Jackson. Follow the additional directions below for after reaching Lake Jackson. We do NOT recommend you take I-45 all the way to Galveston and then take the coastal road to Surfside beach. The coastal road is an undivided 2 lane road most of the way and is not very well lit.
From San Antonio
Take I-10 East toward Houston. When you reach the Sam Houston Tollway/Beltway 8 South take that exit. Head South until you reach Hwy 288 south. Take 288 South to Lake Jackson. Follow the additional directions below for after reaching Lake Jackson.
From Dallas or North of Dallas
Take I-45 south which will take you through Houston. You will still need to take the exit for the Sam Houston Tollway West. From there look for the 288 South exit and take that South to Lake Jackson. From Lake Jackson
When you come down 288 you will come through Lake Jackson. At the main intersection in Lake Jackson there will be an Office Max on the right hand corner. Continue through that light. Eventually you’ll pass Dixie Dr, where you’ll see a Burger King on the left. Continue on and stay in the right hand lane. You’ll see Dow Chemical on the right you may notice an Exxon gas station on the left, after you pass that intersection, at Main Street, you’ll stay to the right and just ahead will be the 332 overpass. You’ll see a sign for 332 Surfside. Take that right exit and go over the overpass. You won’t make any other turns until you reach Surfside. When you reach the light at the bottom of the bridge make a left onto Bluewater Highway. Make a right just past the first street after turning away from the bridge. You will see the sign for the Ocean Village Hotel, as well as Pirates Alley Cafe, just after passing the Red Snapper Inn. The Hotel and Cafe are at the end of that street.
